Allie’s bachelorette weekend | Wrightsville Beach, NC

Today’s tidbit: “A good friend is a connection to life, a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world.” ― Lois Wyse

Remember Allie & Brian? I posted their engagement sessions and Save the Date a while back. Well, their wedding is only a few months away now (October 19th) and I can hardly believe it! After a few weeks of planning and coordinating with Allie’s bridesmaids, everything came together in what turned out to be a wonderful bachelorette weekend. We were able to stay for 2 nights at Blockade Runner, a beautiful beach resort in North Carolina!! I highly recommend it. What made it even more special was one of the bridesmaids, Kristina turned 25 on that Sunday and it was also the weekend before Allie and I turned 25 (birthday post coming soon)… lots to celebrate!

With some of her bridesmaids in medical school (like her) and others in grad and dental school, there were only 2 weekends that worked. Although everyone is busy with different schedules, I have to say Allie has some wonderful friends and bridesmaids. They all wanted to chip in and help, contacting me with suggestions and ideas which I loved. I couldn’t have done it without them and enjoyed getting to know each better. Allie is my twin, my other half, and I want to do as much as I can for her and Brian. They deserve it and I am happy to have the opportunity to do it. It’s nice to see her friends are just as supportive and caring!

As you know, I love the little details and even though this was a bachelorette party I enjoyed capturing those special touches. From the champagne glasses and favors to the room decorations and fun drinks, I was thinking about the details. It was great to have the other bridesmaids helping me, and they learned quickly I would be documenting everything (some of the appropriate pictures below) 😉

Champagne glasses with everyones initial (Yes, they happened to all be ‘A’ and ‘B’ with one ‘K’ to mix it up — Allie, Alyssa, Alli, Becca, Bailey and Kristina). I wanted to keep them cute and simple.

We had 2 suite rooms that connected overlooking the resort pool and beach. It was just perfect.

My mom is so sweet and sent Edible Arrangements to the room. It was a special option with white chocolate doves, a nice touch. Each room had a fridge, which was convenient and perfect for the fruit and bubbly!

As I mentioned, it was Kristina’s birthday on the Sunday we were there. Allie was sweet enough to make her cupcakes, which we surprised her with in the shape of a ‘K’ along with added some of the cute pink gummy bear toppers.

Heading out to the beach bars the second night in our coordinated colors!

Allie was able to cross off EVERYTHING on her scavenger hunt that the bridesmaids came up with. It was a great way to break the ice and we met so many funny and unique people that we wouldn’t have otherwise. After a successful night out, we ended it with a stroll along the beach back to the resort. With the stars twinkling, the waves crashing and bursts of laughter from the stories shared, it truly was a drama free, fun and memorable night!

It was a wonderful weekend full of color, drinks, waves and laughs. We all had a blast and can’t wait to go visit again! Look for part 2 later this week, Beauty + Beaches.
